At Cappello Performing Arts Academy, we are aware that even though we are now easing out of lockdown, the Coronavirus is still a concern. We want to reassure students, parents and members of the public that we are monitoring the situation as advised by the Chief Medical Officer and the updates provided on the Gov.uk website.
So far there are no actual or suspected cases of Covid at either the academy or at Longwood Mechanics Hall, and we aim to keep it that way. Every staff member will take a weekly covid test, observe social distancing and wear masks during academy classes.
If we are informed of a case of Covid being found at the academy or in Longwood Hall, we will act as quickly as possible and inform the students, staff, parents and the public to minimise the impact. In the interest of everyone, we would like to ask students, staff and the public to adhere to all precautions:
If you have symptoms, stay at home and do not come to the academy.
Every adult must wear a mask or facial covering at all times unless they are exempt, including teachers and parents. Make sure masks cover the entire lower two-thirds of your face, from the bridge of your nose to below your chin.
Everyone coming into and going out of the Longwood Hall must use hand sanitizer provided. Consider reapplying once or twice during class.
All parents will keep approximately 2 meters apart when picking up and dropping off their children and when speaking to staff.
Disinfect all surfaces
Staff will clean all surfaces that students, parents and teachers may touch before and after all classes.
Everyone’s temperature shall be taken by using a non-contact infrared thermometer when entering the Hall. This may slow things down a little, so we ask that you bear with us.
Covid Symptoms can range widely but commonly reported symptoms can include the following:
- Dry Cough
- Fever with a temperature of over 100.5 degrees F
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- Loss of smell or taste
- Sore throat
- Muscle or body aches
Anyone showing these symptoms will be asked to go home immediately and to get tested.
